Get Ready For This....

Some of you and maybe most of you at this point already know that Zak and I are EXPECTING OUR FIRST CHILD! The grandparents can't seem to keep a secret...MOM!! After a crazy scary start it seems that everything is progressing normally and Baby G (As Zak and I have been calling him/her) seems to be growing just perfectly. We just recently heard the heartbeat at the Doctors office and that was also our big appointment for blood tests, etc. I have an ultrasound the beginning of March which will be the first time Zak will get to see Baby G!!! As for me, I am a little sick but not too bad, really tired which I hear goes away soon and completely in shock! Zak is probably in the most shock and isn't quite sure yet where babies come from, he skipped that day of school :) Kidding, but obviously it was a bit of a surprise. I am approximately 10 weeks along with a due date of September 13th. All though we are hoping to hold out for September 15th (Libby's Birthday and our engagement anniversary) September 16th (Uncle Simon's Birthday) or September 21st (Lynn's Birthday)

The three is for Baby G to be included in our pics from now on!

This means, Sorry Tony and Rae but we will not be making it to the wedding such a bummer as Zak and I were totally looking forward to it! I'm sure someone will take pictures for us!

Some of you may know the entire story on what is going on with my pregnancy and others don't. I don't want to go into details on the blog, but I would ask that you all keep us and Baby G in your prayers. Things have been going good and we would like to keep them that way since it is still early.

Sorry to keep this from those of you that did not know, but I'm sure you can understand why?!?!

PS-Does this picture look familiar? We figured that every big thing has to be announced at Disney World in front of Cinderella's Castle from now on! Just thought I would post the picture from our engagement so you could remember what it looked like and what we were trying to imitate!

Stupid Cupid???

Why does everyone hate Valentine's day so much? I was listening to the radio earlier today and the DJ was talking about how this year spending will be down 15% due to the economy. He continued by saying that men should pay off television personalities every year to say we are in a recession, thus making it easier to get out a plans and presents. So I'm asking; What is so wrong with Valentine's Day? I personally LOVE it, very fitting since is the day of love, but I do blame my dad since he always made it special! Do most women like it or is it just me? All we are asking for is one day, one silly day for the men in our lives to bring us flowers and chocolate or possibly make the dinner plans for once. Hey what about just a card....that's right people a card is VERY important and never forget it. That isn't so much pressure is it? You should want us to know how much you love us everyday but something tells me that may be asking too much...just kidding. I was very interested by this comment on the radio and I know there is a lot of hype put into being with someone during V-Day. With maybe too much pressure being put on those singles out there....Singles Awareness Day anyone?? I am just curious how everyone else feel about this, please share with me....

PS I thought the picture was fitting I know it is a little vulgar, sorry

Twim visit!

Cousin Stephanie- My Twim (that is code for Twin, for those of you that don't know) came to visit this past week. It was the first time in a long time that she has been in Colorado, since '98 I think??? It was also the first time she got to really hang out with Zak and meet our kids :)

We showed Steph the wild side of Colorado during the UFC fight between Penn and GSP...ha ha just kidding!! Also Zak really wanted her to try Rocky Mountain Oysters so that is what we did before the Superbowl on Sunday. I'm not sure that she really enjoyed it, but thanks for being a good sport! We spent 2 days in Breckenridge and Copper Mountain. There is a really good Brewery in Breck and then enjoyed some extreme tubing at Copper the next morning! I've got a pretty good video, courtesy of Steph that I will post!! On Wednesday we had some female bonding while we both got a haircut from Kali, Thanks Kali!!! Thursday and Friday we spent with my family in Calhan. We tried to meet my mom for lunch but her phone broke so that did not end up happening. Zak and I had a meeting in Colorado Springs so mom took Steph to Old Colorado City for some shopping and then home so they could play with fire arms. Dad showed Stephanie how to shoot some guns out on the property, which is always fun as long as you are being responsible. Which of course they were! Dad made an awesome cheese enchilada dinner and we watched the Grey's/Private Practice crossover (which by the way was NOT a crossover) After some more retail therapy, Steph I think you did good with your shopping selection, Steph was on a plane back to Houston. It was so much fun to see you and we hope you enjoyed yourself, come back anytime. Love you!!

That is Stephie on the tube and the boys video taping!

My picture program is acting up at the moment but just as soon as it is fixed I will post some pictures from the visit. Hope you enjoyed the video :)

Disney!!!

Zak and I had the chance to meet up with Simon, Jenni, Laynie and Libby in Florida! Not only would we get to see the family, since it has been WAY to long but we got to go see the Mouse....Micky Mouse of course!!! We left on a Tuesday morning and stayed until Sunday morning. I was so much fun to be back, it has been since we got engaged that we were there. Such good times! On Tuesday night we were lucky enough to get to go to a special opening of Sea World, all though it was a little chilly for Florida, we still had fun. I have never been to sea world and seeing Shamu was really cool! Those Orcas are so smart and very talented. Here are a few pictures of that.

Nice up the nose shot!

Pretty Cool stuff really!!

Zak, Libby and I took Laynie to Hollywood Studios (Formally known as MGM to us) on Wednesday while Simon and Jenni finished up the last day of there Vet Convention. I think that this was the coldest day yet and so poor Laynie Lou had to be bundle up with blankets, a hat and gloves. We still had a good time though!!! Of course we had to go eat at Prime Time Cafe since it is our favorite and since there is a lot of shows in 3D we saw those with the babe. It was cold but still a lot of fun!

Us at Prime Time

Playhouse Disney Live...Laynie really liked this one!

The next day was our personal favorite Magic Kingdom!!! But first we went to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's Breakfast. It was really fun to get a lot of pictures with the characters and interesting to see how Laynie would react!

As you can see she wasn't too impressed :)
Magic Kingdom was everything I remember and I can't wait to go back again! Every ride at that park is fun but my most favorite was closed for refurbishing. :( Here is a cute picture of Laynie, Auntie Robben and Uncle Zakie. I wish you could here her say Unlce Zakie it is the sweetest thing!

The next adventure was EPCOT which was fun because we got to eat lunch with the Princess' and my favorite princess of all Aurora! Thanks to Uncle Zakie for making all of the reservations for the trip because it was really cool!!! I thought that maybe Laynie would be more interested in the princess lunch because they are actually people instead of big headed things....I was wrong. As you can see from the above picture she was not having it. But didn't she look damn cute in her cute little pink outfit? I didn't take too many pictures at EPCOT but it was still a fun day with the family and our royalty that was with us all day! Last but certainly not least was Animal Kingdom. Once again Zak made breakfast reservations with the characters and I think Laynie finally got the hang of it...still not certain about all of them, but really like Donald Duck! There is also a really cute video of Uncle Zakie and her dancing to a little African band on the street!

We spent some time at the carnival in Dino Land and won some cool stuffed animals and had a family race!

All in all it was a fantastic trip and we are all planning another trip in 2 years! I can not what it will be SO much fun!!! Thanks for everything Simon, Jenni and Libby we enjoyed ourselves :)

WAY BEHIND...

I know I'm behind but we have been extremely busy. Here it goes with Christmas....
Zak and I had Christmas at our house this year! It was fun to get the house decorated and bring out the Christmas dishes, place mats and lights for the dinners and lunches! My mom and Dad along with Uncle Greg, Aunt Margot and Cousin Jeremy came up to enjoy the festivities! We had our traditional Escargot Christmas Eve dinner with a very yummy turtle pumpkin pie that I made. Thanks to Kristin for that one, Zak LOVED the one you made so I had to make it too!!

Yummy dinner on Christmas Eve

We ate way to much food and retired early so that Santa could come :)

We had "festive" coffee as my dad called it and no I don't mean spiked. It had a little peppermint extract added to it! So we had coffee and bagels for breakfast and around 9:30 or 10am decided to see what Santa brought us!! It was a good time and I think Mom made out this year Santa must really like her! Zak and I bought each other the same movie, I think that means we really like it!

Zak insisted on having fried Turkey for Christmas Day lunch and the men cooked in the garage while Mom, Margot and myself did the rest of the cooking in the kitchen! Margot was kind enough to make a traditional German dish for Christmas, no one could quite pronounce it correctly but her, so Zak decided to call it Bin Laden. It's real name is Rouladen and it was tasty. Thanks Margot, we are so glad you could join our crazy family for Christmas :) Here are some more pictures, Merry Christmas!

White Christmas!!!

On Friday we had tickets to get see White Christmas at the dinner theatre with my parents! It just happened to snow 7.5-8" on Wednesday night into Thursday ending around 8:00pm Thursday night. This was Fort Collin's first snow of the winter season which meant the first snow clearing adventure for the business! It went well and poor Zak was up for 48 hours with only 3 hours of sleep. He managed to get in about an hour nap before the dinner theatre started. We had a lot of fun and it was a good show! My mom and dad look so cute all dressed up! Mom bought a new dress just for the occasion. I think Zak enjoyed this show even though he was a little tired. Thanks Pits for accompaning us once again, we love having you.

Thanksgiving

So I realize I am way behind but decided to just post a few pictures to follow the video of domino's! We spent the Thanksgiving Holiday in Black Forest with Peter and Libby. My parents came and Eleanor as well! I made the centerpieces from Mom's home grown pumpkins and Libby made all the food. The gravy that Libby makes is the BEST and I think it has to do with the Vegemite, it taste fantastic! There was a lot of good food and good times as you can see from the video below! Here are a few pictures of the festivities....

Nice glasses Santa!

That is really special Mom

On Friday morning Zak and I woke up early. We had decided to take the new car on it's first road trip. We went to Breckenridge from Springs and visited the Breckenridge Brewery for a few beers and a souvenir pint glass for the kitchen! It was a fun trip and the snow was great especially with the snow to start off the Christmas Season. The ride home was a little frustrating with a seasonal road closure, HORRIBLE snow storm and Zak's speeding ticket....80 in a 55 :( All in all it was a really fun day that we got to spend together and got us in the Christmas spirit!

Molly in her favorite spot in the car, laying on the floor in the back seat!
