Houston Visit....yeah I know I'm WAY behind

So my mom and I recently took a trip to Houston....recently as in July 24th!!! I know I am so far behind but I wanted to put up some cool pics and talk about some fun stories!!! So the day we left was also the day that Dolly was beating the coast with all her power. Of course it made or plane delay about an 1hr, while we were sitting on it. Mom said that every plane I get on his late but I don't think that's true, natural catastrophes just sort of happen when I'm trying to take off on a plane somewhere. (Remember the Tornado in Windsor in May) Anyways, we got there in one piece and Uncle Steve picked us up from the airport where the temperature was a balmy 90 degrees at NIGHT! I guess I should have known not to go to Texas, let alone Houston, in July. I'm just happy that there was unseasonably "cool" temps. LOL The next morning we kind of took our time getting around, except for me I was up at 6am and then again at 7am because of Phone calls from Zak. I still had to work while I was gone. We had just recently upgraded our phones to a very high tech system. What this means for me is, A- NO MORE PAGER, those of you who have ever spent time with me knows that I was forced to carry the very outdated pager around anytime I left the office. We had an answering service to pickup our calls when we weren't in the office. This worked very well for the first couple of years but as the service became less efficient and I started working full time, not to mention the price increase that tripled, It no longer made sense. We traded work with a guy in town that installs phone systems. So long story short, I am no able to forward my calls when I am gone to a cell phone and no one knows that I am standing in Texas!!! So I had to work and the phones would NOT stop that day so I was busy!!! Finally late that afternoon My Mom, Aunt Maggie and I (Steph had to work) went and got manicures and pedicures. Let me tell you it was the BEST pedicure I have ever had and I told the lady that did my nails I was going to fly her to CO every time I needed my nails done because they looked so awesome! See aren't they cute?! So after that we went to Dinner, of course at a Tex-Mex Restaurant!! It was very, very yummy and of course they had good Margaritas why else would we go to a TeX Mex place?? Sisters!!! I wonder what they were talking about? Don't they look like they are talking at the same time? The Wilson Sisters always do that :) Twims!!! Okay so let me explain this word to you all. Since Stephanie and I were very little we were always told how much we looked like each other. (I never understood because I'm blond and she has dark brown hair) One day in Texas my Meme was shopping with the two of us, who I will say are 17 days apart, and a lady in the store asked if we were twins. My grandma said "Yes, twins with different mothers!!" Stephanie and I talk a lot and a lot of the time it is on Facebook, I made the comment about us thinking a like and having ESP and I said "Maybe its because of or Twin Cousin connection or something....cause I was thinking that exact same thing!!!" Except for I made a bit of a typo and wrote Twim...Stephanie used that to her advantage to make fun!! But then it just evolved and we use it a lot, since we aren't really Twins, being cousins and all but Twims is different. "It's a Twim think you wouldn't understand!!" :) Love ya Steph! On Saturday I had this bright idea to go to a brewery, since Zak and I always do that when we travel. So I googled it and found a brewery called Saint Arnold's, told Steph about it and Uncle Steve decided to join...I mean really who would pass up beer?? Well I would have if I had known it was going to be like this. First as you will see from the picture below it was about 100 outside in the sun and there was a line to just get in the place, a line we waited in for about 20 minutes (Steph am I exaggerating on this??) Needless to say I was HOT! Once you got inside it was even HOTTER because there was about 100 plus people standing in a a warehouse that had NO air conditioner, everyone huddled around each other to get some beer. So I bought some memorabilia and had one beer and decided that was enough for us. TOO hot, I thought I was going to pass out. We dd decide to go over to the arboretum at Memorial Park, but once again didn't stay too long as it was so humid outside. We went to a Sushi/Hibachi restaurant for dinner and some pretty funny things happened. I will post the video below. Mom started her "white mom" rapping and it was pretty funny I couldn't resist getting it on tape!!!!
Steph and I at Dinner

On Sunday Steph and I went to a concert...well of course after having the BEST lunch ever at Taco Cabana!!! The concert was my favorite guy Gavin DeGraw LOVE him and we had really good "seats" after a couple songs and some really good pictures, we decided to go stand in the back were you good still see really well but would avoid that crowd engulfing us. Here are a few pics of that, it was really fun and thanks to Steph for finding and buying the tickets for us!!!

So all and all it was a GREAT visit! And just as Mom said on the way there, we got delayed on the way home too! Oh well! Thanks to Maggie, Steve and Stephanie for the hospitality and great fun, now its your turn to come to Colorado!!!
