We decided to go to Bath Garden Center where I used to work and have our picture taken with Santa, the same Santa that Zak and I had our picture taken with 3 years ago. We HAD to make it a family affair by adding the dogs since they are our First babies! It was fun and everyone did really great. You can see in the first picture of Holden by himself that he was NOT happy to see Santa, I think its great because whats your first picture with Santa if your not crying right??? I got him to calm down and get his attention by clapping and saying his name. Of course when the lad decided she had enough pictures and I went to grab him he gave the BIGGEST smile, oh well we got some good ones and I had to share!!

I think we got the BEST Christmas present ever!!! I little early even!

3 months

Can you believe we have a 3 month old? I know we can't it seems like we just brought him home yesterday! It takes looking at pictures for me to realize how fast and big he has grown. He had a cold last week and it was really scary for me. I was SO worried about him having pneumonia or something worse. I took him to the doctor when his fever was joined by a cough and a runny nose. After an RSV/Influenza test and chest XRAY we could relax and know it was just a cold that would work its way out. But not before it worked its way through Mom and Dad! I hope Holden never has to have the RSV test again because it was HORRIBLE. Not only for Holden who I have NEVER heard scream like that, not even during the circumcision. I had to help by holding his arms and feet. I had to bury my head down in the exam chair and cry, I wanted to rip the thing out of his nose and run. I usually stay composed for the shots because I know they really only hurt for a second, so it surprised me that it hurt SO bad to see him hurt. NEVER again do I want to experience that.

2 Months (Photo taken on Nov. 4th)

3 months (Photo taken Dec. 2nd) He was sick so he was sleeping in his car seat to help his nose to drain. :) And I didn't take a good one in the car seat like the prior month, better luck next time!

A few of my favorite things...

Here are few very cute photos of the Toad. Most of the pictures are him discovering something new. It is so funny to see his expressions when he runs a new experience through his brain. I could seriously take pictures if him ALL the time!!!This first picture wasn't his FIRST snow but for picture purposes it was. It actually was his first time out side in the snow other than in his car sea walking to and from the car. This was after one of the quick snow falls that turned nice and sunny the next morning. (Did I mention we have already had 33 inches??) So he was in the Bumbo exploring the snow!

This is the just out of the shower picture. That's right I said shower. We found that it is so much easier and pleasant for Holden to just take a shower in Zak's arms. With the tub it took a lot of time to get him situated and then he would scream the entire time. With the shower method he relaxes a little more and also smiles at Zak! I think it is great bonding time for Zak since at this stage a lot of his time is spent with Mom! Isn't he just SO darn cute?

The Bumbo! Let's just say we don't love it yet but we also don't hate it. The problem currently is that it doesn't matter when you put him in it he still spits up. I think it has to do with his reflux and how it puts pressure on his belly. At any rate he seems to enjoy it more each day!

These last to were hilarious to me at the time. The FIRE wow is it cool! He laid there perfectly content for 30 minutes just staring at the fire. Not even the cat messing around behind him could take away his attention. He still likes it now just not as much as the first time!

Traditions

November 18Th was our 2 year anniversary! When we celebrated our one year we decided to follow the traditional anniversary gift giving list each year to make things easy! Well since I'm big on traditions we decided to make the entire evening a tradition. So we went to The Melting Pot for Dinner and then went to Best Buy (just like last year) Remember what we got each other last year?

This year we got a new TV!!! SO exciting right?? I could really care less to be honest but whatever makes Zak happy. It was fun and different to go out without The Toad! (Holden's official nickname) Thanks to Mimzy for watching him while we were celebrated!

WOW, 2 years already I can't believe it! Here's to MANY more!

Thankful

I have been feeling very full of love these days and thankful for SO many things (Holden has made me this way) But I wanted to let those people know how I felt and get it out since life really can be cut short at anytime, I always want them to know! So here it goes.

Zak- My best friend, my husband and even though I never really believed in this before him, my soul mate. We were complete opposites it seemed in the beginning. The farm boy and the city girl. But through the years we have literally become the same mind. It sounds cliche but we finish each others sentences and know what the other is thinking. Not to mention he is hilarious! Now, I was grateful and thankful for Zak before Holden was born but bringing a child into the world and seeing what you have created with another person really changes things. I wouldn't want any other person raising my son with me. You do so for much us, all of us including those 3 furry mutts, and I appreciate every single bit of it. THANK YOU for picking me to share your life with. Love you babe!

My Parents- Everything I know I learned from you. Thank you for raising me with the values I will instill in my son. I hope I can be half the parents to him you were to me. I know I was a total pain in the ass, but thank you for always supporting me and trusting that I would figure out what was right. I really am who I am because of you. Also, thank you for always loving each other and showing your love around me. It really goes to show that 2 people really can stay together forever no matter what life throws at you! Love you Guys!!

Peter and Libby- Thank you for raising Zak with the values, morals and beliefs he has. I'm grateful for the wonderful person you created. And well lets face it, he was a pain in the ass at times too. WAS try IS :) Thank your for taking me into your family and "allowing" (for lack of a better word) me to take the George name. Love you both!

Stephanie Wind- I love what you do for people and by people I mean ME! The pictures you have taken of my family make me so happy. I really started to think about this when Holden started "talking" to his monkeys that my mom painted. Then I really started thinking about it when the topic of moving came up. You took pictures of the monkeys and nursery when you were here and now I will forever have a picture to go with the story of the monkeys. The story I will tell his girlfriends someday ;) Pictures aside, I love YOU! It is totally funny how our friendship has evolved, from strangers to, as you say "BFF's" I want you to know how much I appreciate and am thankful for you and EVERYTHING you do for me and my family. I wish our families lived closer, but I will have to deal with that for now. (Retire to Florida someday??) Thanks for being my "GO to Mommy" I feel like you always make time for me and my craziness. Even if it is via email you always have time to talk and help. I love you for that!I look forward to seeing you in January!!!

Holden- Even though you are too young to read this, thank you. Thank you for coming in to my life, surprising the heck out of us, turning our worlds upside down (for the better of course) and making me appreciate life more. What a true miracle birth is, creating another life is...well words can not describe that experience. I gave another person life and that person is YOU! I will love you forever, I will love you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be. God has plans for you, BIG plans, you REALLY wanted to be here and I am SO thankful you are.

2 Month Check-Up

Today was Holden's 2 month well baby check-up, can you believe it has been that long? Anyway, here are those stats!

Height: 23 inches- 55Th percentile
Weight: 11 lbs 3 oz- 39Th percentile

He is pretty much following in his mothers footsteps as far as his progress! He got his shots today and was NOT happy. His face turned bright red and he started crying but by the time his nurse was done and I picked him up he calmed down. He still wont let me put him down even as I type, but its okay he had a rough afternoon! I got a H1N1 nasal spray since Holden is unable to get a flu vaccine until 6 months we are considered high risk. Zak got a regular flu nasal and says that is enough for him for the year...what a sissy!!! Here are some pictures of the man from today and also Halloween!!

Just some thoughts

It is Sunday the first of November and here I sit with a sleeping baby by my side. It still is a bit unreal to say that I am a mother, that Baby G is no longer just an ultrasound picture HE is very real and has very real needs and wants. Must of these only I can provide. He is such a good little man but I wouldn't mind a little more sleep or a consistent schedule, babies should come out like that! I am however adjusting and looking forward to working more but glad that I will be able to be at home with him. In this I am lucky. I have the perfect situation, stay at home mom/working mom. I just hope that I will be able to find the best balance for this situation and Holden will someday appreciate the fact that I was there to raise him, take him to the bus stop and make his lunch. Having to drop my son off at daycare or have a babysitter would break my heart. On another note and I almost HATE myself for thinking the words before I type them but it would be nice to have some time to myself! Zak doesn't do too well with the crying spells! On the same note as work, spending so much time in the house makes me have a little cabin fever so i've been trying to get out more. After Holden was born I made it a goal to everyday take a shower and get out of my PJ's (except for on Sundays, which I call God's day and don't do anything if I don't want too!) I have done SUCH a good job of actually getting ready from head to toe!!

Just some thoughts... :)

So there is Snow in October...

What's the big deal people? I remember PLENTY of Halloweens growing up with snow on the ground or actually snowing, this is why we always did the mall trick or treats. At any rate here are some pictures of the snow taken around 10am and it is STILL coming down. Zak was up at 3am to go work and arrived home around 11am so sleep so he could be ready to go out again around 2pm. I know he will be going out many more times with this storm especially if it continues they way the weather people are predicting.

I personally LOVE when it snows, I guess that comes from growing up in Colorado. However, I do not love it that my husband has to work at all hours of the night when it snows. BUT, the bonus of this is that we will always have winter money and the bigger the storm the bigger the bill I send people. LOL!!!

Happy Early Halloween, I will post a picture of Holden in his costume and an update after his 2 month check-up. I'm excited to see how much he weighs and measures!!!

What is wrong with this picture?

Do you see anything wrong with the above picture? No?? Well me neither, but here is the problem it has been broken for OVER a year. That's right people we have been shower in one of the guest bathrooms for over a year. Supposedly all that needs to take place is for caulking to be put in around the facet. Sounds easy right? Trust me if I knew how to do it I would because I would LOVE to be able to shower in the shower that is attached to my bedroom. Because, we all know that if I tried to do it myself it would be done wrong and then we would REALLY have problems. So I guess I just pray to the Shower Fixing Gods in hopes that it fixes itself???

Super Powers??

Who would've thought I had hidden super powers?! In the past 4 weeks I have learned all these crazy things I can do that I never knew! For starters I can do EVERYTHING one handed and I'm talking everything people. Laundry, cooking, cleaning and yes even using the bathroom. Now I don't usually go to the bathroom with a baby in my hands but I have so I know I can do it! Next, surviving on zero sleep. I've always heard moms say they can do this but never believed them until now. Most of you know I like my sleep so being able to thrive and function with 3-4 hours of sleep is a huge accomplishment for me. I can get a cold and still function, YES it sounds crazy. I got a ridiculous head cold last week and was able to still get up at 2am for feedings and still bath my son and change diapers. Can you believe it? I didn't have to lay in bed for days on end to get rid of it. Now I'm not saying that I wouldn't have rather been doing that but someone needed me! I have discovered that I can be very organized, I've never been much of a neat freak but with Holden I have to have everything in its place otherwise I can't find it at 2am! And lastly, I've learned I can can love someone SO much and I'm not just talking about Holden. Yes, from the moment I saw him I had this overwhelming love for another human being and that is just indescribable but I'm talking more about the love for my husband. Who know I could love him anymore? He has been really great through this getting me whatever I shout out at the top of my lungs, hehe! It really is nice to have him around and it makes me appreciate single/widowed mothers in this world. Now if I could just find the super power to make the laundry fold and put itself away that would be great! Where is my fairy Godmother when I need her?

"I heard it so I came out..."

In the words of the great Comedian Dane Cook (in reference to hearing a car accident in front of a house) "I heard it so I came out" If you are confused don't worry allow me to explain! On Tuesday September 1st, Zak and I sat on the couch watching the "The Breakup." Good movie that also has the song "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash

Okay so, Zak started singing the song when it came on during the movie. Well he didn't exactly know the lyrics so I looked them up on my phone. He continued to sing at the top of his lungs, with me singing backup vocals, to my belly! Zak made a comment about the baby wanting to come out because he/she loved his singing and would want to hear more of it. Well I guess he was right since my water broke the next day! Thus the saying "I heard it so I came out." Now everynight before Holden goes to bed I play "his" song for him. It will forever be his song and some day he will be so embarrsed by us singing to him and will pretend to hate it! I thought it was a cute story so I thought I would share it with everyone :)

Introducing... Holden Frederick George

HE is here!!! The infamous Baby G made his arrival on September 3, 2009 at 3:15am, weighing 6lbs 7oz and 20 inches long! Here is the story. I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday the 2nd and at the appointment not much had changed I was dilated to 3 1/2 cm and 100% effaced. So Zak and I left kind of bummed but knowing that really anything could happen. We went home, I made dinner and did my normal evening routine but this time decided on going for a walk with Molly, Zak wasn't feeling up to it and decided to get some work done.(good thing looking back) I took a 45 minute walk and boy did it feel good! Molly was exhausted too. I honestly didn't feel like anything was going to happen, I was having a few contractions but nothing serious. We once again went through our nightly routine and were in bed by 9:45. I was reading and Zak (as per the norm) was passed out asleep in about 5 minutes. Around 10:15pm my water broke. It was a very surreal moment, I didn't know what to do, but Zak was calm (or asleep) and told me to call the doctor on call, so I did! I was told to come to the hospital when my contractions got strong or if they hadn't started to come in at 1pm. So I layed back down and talked with Zak for a few minutes, he decided to go get some more work done and I thought it would be a good idea to take a hot shower. Once in the shower I could feel the contractions picking up, so I got out and got everything together for the hospital. I already had my bag packed but need stuff for Zak and kept thinking of other stuff. By about 11:30pm my contractions were coming quick and hard so I told Zak we needed to go. Most of you know my husband, but for those who don't let's just say he is a bit frugal (that is putting it nicely) So when the doctor told us that the hospital billed you at a full day if you got there before midnight even if it was 11pm you better believe Zak was willing to push off our arrival at the hospital until after midnight. So he took his time packing the car and waiting for Phil to arrive to watch the dogs. He thought they were going to send us home, not understanding that once your water breaks you are admitted no matter what. So of course we got there about 10 after midnight and I was admitted. Once at the hospital I was checked and was dilated to a 4cm, we thought we were in for a long night. My blood was pulled and monitors attached, it was decided that I needed an IV because I was throwing up and my body wasn't keeping up and becoming dehydrated. After a million questions and a load of paperwork for the cord blood donation the nurse asked if I wanted to get in the shower, the room I was in didn't have a tub, I said yes that might feel really good as my contractions felt like they were getting harder. She asked if I wanted her to check me. I asked her when she would normally check again and she said "Not for another hour." (it had been an hour and a half since we got to the hospital) I said yes check me, well I was 8cm! She decided to call my doc, good idea right!? I got in the shower and Zak sprayed me with water and helped me through the contractions, I couldn't have done it without him he was my ROCK! I was having a really hard time resisting the urge to push and the shower was a life saver. By the time the shower was over my doc was there, I was checked again and dilated to 9cm. 1 more to go! Did I mention I decided to have a natural birth? Zak made a smart ass comment about being in active labor, of course he made everyone including myself laugh. At about 2:45 am I was allowed to start pushing and at 3:15am we welcomed our little man into the world. It was exciting to hear and see that Baby G was a boy after 38 weeks of guessing, Zak and I always said he so it was nice to see we were right! He was put on my chest and Dad cut the cord, then he was taken to be cleaned off. They cleaned him off in the room so I could see and hear him the entire time, and Zak was able to be right there as well. In all the craziness to get into my room Zak decided to just bring up my bag and he would go get the rest of the stuff once we were settled, Well that never happened so we had NO camera. That's right we brought 3 cameras to the hospital and we didn't have a single one with us in the room. So the first pictures of Holden were taken with our cells phones! But here are just a few of his first days of life~ (They are a little backwards as far as order but you get the idea)

The hospital gives new parents a really nice dinner or lunch for the last day, it was FANTASTIC!!!

Where do I begin??

Okay so I realize I haven't posted anything since the end of June. What a bad blogger I am. So here is an update on all things George.

Zak and I spent the 4th of July weekend with Axmann Family. Sara, Ryan and their two boys Kaleb and Nathan came up to our place for the weekend. We planned a bunch of day trips to 4-wheel. Ryan has a jeep, a little newer than Rufus, so we thought it would be fun to show them around NoCo (Northern Colorado) since they are orginally from Nebraska. So off we went for the weekend with the kids and the mutts in tow. SayD and Nathan made quick buddies! Zak and I love the boys they are So well behaved and like to be out in the mountain air with out complaining. It was so much fun. We also got some VIP parking for the City Park fireworks show, thanks to a customer of ours. It was actually the first time Zak and I had gone to the park instead of watching them from various other places. It was a great weekend that prepared not only us but our dogs for a little one in the house! Thanks Axmann Family for hanging with us! (All of these pictures must be on Zak's camera because I don't have any)

Zak and I also had the pleasure of driving with my parents to Texas to visit the fam. Cousin Tony is getting married in September, so Aunt Maggie decided to throw them a shower in TX so everyone could meet Rae before the nuptials. The month of July also marked my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary! So as a surprise to them the shower turned into a party for them! It was A LOT of fun and everything looked wonderful! It was nice to see some of the fam I haven't seen in years, literally!

I think we clean up rather nice??

A picture of the George Fam with the Wilson's

All the grandkids (minus a few) and one Great grandkid
Also, Baby G will be the 16 Great Grandkid for Meme and Popa, I think that is just amazing!!

In Baby G world, we had our LAST ultrasound in July and the growth is right on! Everything was were it should be and Baby G gave us a nice smile too. So this means no more ultrasounds!!! Now we just sit back and wait for the birth. Here are a few pictures to catch everyone up.

28 weeks down....

I had another Doctors appointment yesterday and since I am in my 3 trimester I will be going every 2 weeks until the last month which changes to every week. So the stats are in! I have gained 6 pounds from my pre baby weight. Technically I have gained 12 pounds, because I lost 6 pounds in the beginning but the way the doctors do things that doesn't count to them. So my total is 6! Baby G's heart rate was 150 yesterday so that keeps us consistently between 140 and 150 for the last 5 visits. (Boy or Girl guesses?) Hearing it yesterday it was SO loud and you could actually hear the valves gurgling away, our baby has a STRONG heart!!! And I'm measuring at 28 1/2 weeks so that is right on! I have my next appointment on the 8th of July and at that time they will schedule my ultrasound, which is hopefully my final ultrasound. This ultrasound will be to check on Baby G's weight to see if he is growing the way he should or not due to the SUA. At this time if he/she is 2 or more weeks behind schedule according to 32 weeks they will either induce or do a C-section. There comes a point when the baby will do better outside the womb then in after they have fallen behind! Keep your fingers crossed and prayers coming on this one, I really would rather have a full term baby than an underweight one!

Okay time for pictures!!

Father's Day!

This fathers day is Zak's last year without actually being a dad. It is pretty weird to think about next year this time and know we will have a 9 month old! CRAZY to think about! So this weekend Zak did "Man Things" on Saturday with Ocho while I did absolutely nothing all day and then we went to see the movie Up in 3D! Yes it is a cartoon but it's Disney Pixar so of course we couldn't resist! Good movie I recommend it to everyone at any age!

On Sunday we decided to take advantage of the Free Day at Rocky Mountain National Park! So we got up early and drove to Estes Park, up and over on Trail Ridge Road, (which is really cool and has a lot of history) into Grand Lake.

Once we got to Grand Lake we found a Willow Creek Reservoir and took the dogs on an a two hour hike around the lake. Of course we couldn't do it without taking a dip in the lake and playing fetch. (the Mutts not us)

After our children were wet, happy and tired, We decided to go into Grand Lake for lunch and a little shopping. Of course where did we just so happen to stop for lunch- Grand Lake Brewery of course. We (and I mean Zak) couldn't resist stopping for the tasting and OF COURSE getting a pint glass for the collection. :) We did a little shopping, mostly window and ended up leaving with a book on animal scat (We had just been talking about it earlier, LOL) and Ice Cream.

We then took the Trail Ridge road back home....Good weekend!

Too cute!

All 3 heads out one window :)

The dogs are not allowed to stand on the window/door in order to put their heads out while driving. We have had too many times where SayD has jumped out and Zeus has gotten his head stuck in a tree or something similar. So with the windows in the Murano you can only role them down to a certain point for safety reason, it is perfect for Zeus to access while standing on the seat but not Molly or SayD. As you can see from this picture SayD is cheating just a little bit and hoping not to get caught. Not to mention she thinks she is a person :)
