20 weeks!

Well here we are, 20 weeks in and to the half way mark!!! Yippee, it has gone by pretty quickly and I'm hoping it only goes faster considering the summer months (along with the heat) will be here all to soon! Thank goodness we have air conditioner in the house and the office, otherwise I would be a hurtin' unit come September! It gets pretty hot in Fort Collins, Not Texas hot of course. Getting to the story at hand, today was our 20 week ultrasound. Now usually this ultrasound is used for parents to discover the sex of the baby. Zak and I have decided that is going to have to wait until September. We made our decision awhile ago to keep the sex a secret and I told Zak that once we decide there is NO turning back. So I gave him the "Speak now or forever hold your peace" statement right before the ultrasound and he stuck with the Surprise factor!! We are excited and looking forward to the big day! Here is Baby G's beautiful profile picture, he/she is pretty good looking...with a really big head. Ouch!

And here is me at 20 weeks, I took this picture right after the ultrasound!

Baby G is measuring a little big, but not much and weighs about 13 oz!! My amniotic fluids are good, the heart has all 4 chambers and brain is BIG!!

We are getting excited to meet the newest member of our family as well as preparing our 4 legged furry children!! I have been felling the baby move A LOT especially after a day where I have spent most of my time on my feet walking around. Zak has yet to be able to feel the soccer player moving around, which is a total bummer because it feels REALLY cool!! A very generous customer of ours gave us a crib and dresser/changing table, it is perfect! The exact color and style that I wanted, mattress included. I'm going to mess around with a few paint colors this weekend so that I can get that started, another thing to check off my rapidly growing list. Zak and I have decided on diapers, which is great because it was a big ordeal. Cloth versus disposable...well how about both!? Check them out, there are pretty cool and Eco friendly which is important to us. G diapers (G is for Green but we thought it was good for Baby G!!) http://www.gdiapers.com

That is all we have going on now, just waiting and waiting. Finally things seem to be going smooth and "normal." Zak says "Since when were you ever normal?" Yeah, back atcha buddy!!! Hope everyone is well.

Okay so it's been awhile since I did a belly picture...the reason for that is because it hasn't changed much. But since everyone wants to see the progress that is being made here ya go.

Easter Weekend!

*
WOW, can you believe it is already the middle of April? I know we can't!! This Easter was a very busy one for us as we had a wedding to attend on Saturday night and since it was a few hours away we decided to stay the night, traveling has never been good on my back and it is only gotten worse since I got pregnant. Not to mention the fact I was sure Zak would indulge in a few adult beverages and I didn't feel like driving home at midnight! So the wedding started at 5pm and my parents and Zak's parents had decided to come up that night in preparations for Easter lunch the next day, they felt sorry for me not being able to do the housework that NEEDS to be done! The dogs appreciated them being there too! Well Libby got sick and called on Saturday to say that would probably not make it up until Sunday morning. So my parents had the house to themselves and threw a wild party??? No, but they did end up going to JJ's (the dive bar across the street from our house) with Ocho! Meanwhile, Zak and I are at the wedding eating good food, GREAT cupcakes, beer for Zak and talking with old friends. We got to chat with Kristen and Chad whom have a 10 month old son named Brock! That was nice and good for Zak since the fatherhood thing is still a bit scary! Keisha and Cody's wedding was SO nice, the decorations and atmosphere were just perfect, not to mention Keisha's dress was just GORGEOUS!

Of course Zak can NEVER be serious so I have multiple pictures of me trying take a nice, cute picture of us for once.

See what I mean?

Finally he decided to cooperate with me!

The next morning we woke up bright and early to make the drive home and I saw the Easter Bunny outside our hotel room window!!!! Okay so it was a little cottontail but it was still a good omen!

The drive home was good and the dogs were happy to see us. Upon returning home we found out that Peter had wrecked his car trying to make the drive up here with Eleanor, as Libby still wasn't feeling up to par. The snow fall in the Black Forest, Monument area was nasty. Which was weird to Zak and I since it was just raining up here! Peter decided it wasn't worth killing himself and Eleanor (Poor Eleanor I'm sure she was very upset) not to mention the damage to the car, which I hear is around $3000! We are glad that they made it back home safely.

Here are a few pictures of the lunch...nothing too exciting

He was hungry!!!

Mom taking a picture of Zak...

This was right after Dad told me he wanted Baby G to call him "My Mother's Father" He said it was a Indian thing so Zak started making up Indian names for him...Some of my favorites were:
"Runs with Scissors"
"Man who makes Sparks"
"Plays with cars"
So there you have it Baby G is going to have to learn a mouth full and we all thought it was funny when it was Big Dog or Grandfather!

Of course nothing is normal about my family so they decided to play with my Dad's Beret and here is what you get from that!

I couldn't resist on the last one....Zak has on the nicest Easter outfit and I really think the cape just adds to it, don't you?

Also, Thanks to my parents again for cleaning up the house, making lunch and for all of Baby G's Easter goodies (and Ours too!!) Baby G really made out this Easter....

Update on Baby G...

So it has been awhile since I posted anything about the little alien growing inside of me....being pregnant makes really weird things happen to your body so it is like having an alien in there!! At the risk of giving everyone Too much information I will just say that things have been a bit on the complicated side. I really feel in the need of some inspirational words and people with positive thoughts to keep me going the next 7 months, otherwise this baby might be our only one! I did get the opportunity to, a bit of an emergency though it was, to see Baby G on another ultrasound. This one was especially awesome because he/she really showed a personality. When the ultrasound tech first put the little scanner on my stomach the baby was laying face down....
After that it was like he (yes I keep saying he, please don't take it to mean anything it is just something we started doing) was trying to be right infront of the camera. Everywhere the scanner moved he moved, as my sister in-law Jenni said "It is just like Zak's kid to want to be in the limelight!!" Too bad Zak was in Denver during the ultrasound and didn't get to see his little booger in action! I will also say that on the morning of the 14th I was laying in bed trying to motivate to get out of bed and I had this weird little feeling in my stomach like butterflies, later that day while at lunch I felt the same thing 2 more times. I am now convinced it was Baby G saying hello! That was an incrediable feeling and I really can't wait for Zak to be able to share in the movements! Baby G is measuring right on target, which is GREAT because at the last ultrasound he was a little small and is now weighing in at 3 ounces which is a little bigger than he should be for this week, I just know this baby is going to be big! I have another doctors appointment on Friday and then another on April 6th, hopefully things continue to look up!

On a side note- Thanks to Stephanie Wind for her "Postive thoughts" as well as the too cute baby gifts! It means a lot to me to know I can call you and you are there for me!! Thanks to Rae for the sweet words and card! Also, Aunt Maggie for the recent phone conversation, it sounds like we are more a like then we ever really knew!!

More updates on Friday!! I'm not going to send out an email so if you really want to know whats up just check back Friday afternoon or evening!
