Zak says some pretty random and funny things during any average day and most of the time he mixes up the original saying. Ocho and I decided to start keeping track of the things he says and start a book. Well here is his book starting with two things he said today, once again he makes them his own version and I can't help what wonder what customers must think when they hear him say them ;)
"Well, keep your ears peeled!"
"Older than molasses"
Stay tuned for more....

Lucky Mutt Strut II
Last year Zak and I very randomly decided to take part in the Lucky Mutt Strutt, which is a dog walk that benefits the Max Fund. The Max Fund is one of the only, true NO KILL dog shelters in the state and all of the procedes go to the shelter. Well, luckily Molly's doctor cleared her for the walk and we were able to go again!!! Although it is just a walk around a park on a leash for the dogs, to us it is just proof of how well behaved our Mutts are! It is a 2 mile walk around Washington Park in Denver and it is a very pretty park with a lot of water...which Zeus got to explore of course ;) It was a fun trip and the dogs did SO well on their leashes, which is a great imporvment from last year, and they walked away with a new bed. The bed was hand made be a lady and they were all fighting (figure of speach) over it when we settled in for the night! Thanks to Gloria for making a super cute, yet super stylish bed for our kids! We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to next year!!! Enjoy the pics...

Molly is Clear!!!
God must really like us :) Molly's test results came back a clear....I have yet to figure out the actual name of what it was but, it wasn't even cancer. Is was a skin thing that wouldn't have gone away or gotten any better. GREAT news!!! Just wanted to put that out there. Have a good week!!! Hope everyone is happy and healthy this month! Here is a picture of Molly showing her CSU pride, I put a shirt on her if I have to leave her alone or go somewhere so that she doesn't like or scratch her stitches out!!! Doesn't she look so darn cute?

Little Molly.....
Molly's Surgery was today, I just wanted to post a few pictures of her and then some of the actual incision. It is really nasty looking and I'm not sure if Zeus' looked this bad. They gave me some sedatives to calm her down because she was acting very hyper like she didn't even have surgery. Now she is passed out on her bed at my feet. When she does stand up to go to the bathroom or something she can hardly walk and her poor little legs are shaking. She also has serious trouble standing up....my heart is breaking. Okay the pictures are next and if you don't like blood or gross things, then you wont want to look at this....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Just a picture of her beautiful white sparkling teeth that got cleaned while she was under, they needed it!
So you can get an idea of where it was located on her body :(
The removal site. If her leg is lifted straight it is about 6 inches long. The sutures have to be removed in 14 days!

Ding, Ding, Ding...Round 2!
Well just as I open my big mouth about Molly being the healthiest dog we have, My mom finds a weird growth/sore under her armpit. After I told myself it was just something she got from playing in the mountains, I noticed it wasn't getting any better. Zak and I discussed it and decided to just go to the vet to get it looked at, Better safe than sorry they always say!! Today we went to the vet and after all the tests and such the verdict is in, she has a Mast Cell Tumor. I don't know all the details,(If you would like more info please visit www.deerfieldvetclinic.com) I do know that it is a very common form of a tumor and the same exact thing that Zeus had last January. It is getting removed on Thursday morning and sent off to the CSU pathology lab for tests. Dr. Corbyn is hoping to remove wide margins and get all of the cancerious tissue in one go. So, we are keeping our fingers crossed and since we have already been through this once we are a little more relaxed. We know that it will be awhile until the results come in so we are going to sit tight and wait for a few weeks. We will keep everyone posted!!!!

Camping with the Pros
Last weekend Zak and our crew met my Mom and Dad in Leadville, CO for some good old fashioned camping and 4 wheeling! Zak and I started off on Friday to stay for one extra night to make the most of it, my parents were going to meet us the next morning at 9:30am in Leadville. We were going to camp somewhere close to Mosquito Pass which is right outside Leadville and very close to Baby Doe Tabor's Matchless Mine (just a little history for you) and then meet my parents and continue up and possibly over Mosquito Pass. As Zak and I did some exploring that night we noticed that it was possible we would not be able to make all the way up due to snow. We were right and made about 2.4 miles up the pass with the summit being at 3.3 miles, bummer but here's a really pretty picture of Rufus (the car) at the top overlooking the beautiful nature of Mosquito Pass.
So after descending the mountain we decided to try and find a campsite. After adventuring threw a long, narrow road with overgrown trees we discovered that we were on private property and were indeed breaking the very apparent NO TRESPASSING signs...we hauled our butts out of there quick!! Found a good place to set up tent and in the process found out exactly why it is called Mosquito Pass as there were a thousand mosquito's feeding on me, Zak and Zeus for the rest of the night. We retired early as we had a long day ahead of us. The next morning we got up early so that we would have plenty of time to break camp before meeting my parents, we again had a few run In's with the mosquitoes. We decided that with the time we had before we met my parents to explore, not on private property, some of the beautiful mining area that we were in. Leadville is is the highest incorporated city in the continental United States at 10,152 feet above sea level. It is also home to Mount Elbert (14,433 feet) & Mount Massive (14,421 feet) The two tallest peaks in Colorado. Leadville was a huge silver mining town and is also where the National Mining Museum and Hall of Fame is. It is really beautiful up there! So we went on some really HARDCORE spots trying to see all the mining ruins, here is a video displaying the terrain...;)
My dad is a person who is ALWAYS on time, if he says he will be there at 9:30 you better believe that he will, and if something happens he does everything in his power to make up time so that he isn't late. Well that morning My Great Grandma Wilson (who was 98 years old) died so my mom was on the phone all morning sorting everything out with the family, they ended up being late. I felt bad because I gave them a little bit of grief, before I knew what had happened. After that we drove up to Turquoise Lake to drive up a Jeep road, which used to be a railroad in the 1800's. There was beautiful views all around and still plenty of snow, we ended up being the first vehicle to break through a area with a lot of snow. Old Rufus with Zak as his captain had a lot of fun! I of course got it on video below. I don't have a picture of it but I believe my mom does, but we did have to pull out some guy who decided to be a show off behind us, the FJ couldn't quite get him out so Rufus and Zak had to wench up and take over.
We rounded another few switch backs just to come to another spot where the snow was about 5 feet tall so we had to turn around. We did decide to go back down and follow the old railroad trail up to Douglass City. This was a really pretty trail and there was still a lot of snow, so once again Zak and I got wet feet on a hike....forgot the snow boots again! If you click on this picture, when its bigger you will be able to read the sign for Douglass City...just a little more history!
We crossed a some really deep water, And set up camp for night, this was the end of day 2! I am posting the video of my parents crossing as the one of Zak and I has a few choice words that are not suitable for children, it was me this time not Zak!
The next day we got up broke camp and continued our journey up the trail. We ended up at Champion Mill and Mine, which has been restored a few times to try and keep its history alive. It is now used by the government and teachers have the chance to stay up near it in a cabin for summers while taking classes. It is amazing the machines that are still there and the amount of skill it took to make everything to put these mills to use. Most of the pieces to the machines and cable cars are still standing all these years later. Here are some pictures of the beautiful buildings and the beautiful surroundings.
Of course I had to be a smart ass and take a picture in the out house

We had a fun weekend and the dogs only tried to eat a porcipine and Zeus had his sites set on a marmot. I hope my parents had as much fun as we did and we are up to going a few more times if the summer allows it. Hope you enjoyed the videos!!!

Meet the Kids, In Honor of my Mutts!
As most of you know I am a dog lover, WE are dog lovers in the George House! I don't know how I got to be that way considering I didn't have a dog until I was 14 years old, but either way my Dogs are my Life! I just kind of wanted to take a second, or an hour, to honor my dogs and there great big hearts. I spend a lot of time on the internet everday and sometimes I run across some pretty weird things, today I just saw a few sad stories about pit bulls and aggressive dogs so it made me want to tell everyone how loveable and happy mine make me! So here it goes!
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself"
Molly Jane, my baby! (and yes our dogs have middle names) My mom found Molly running across Judge Orr Rd on a cold day in February. We think she was dumped out in the country to basically die. For those of you who don't know Judge Orr Rd, it is a two lane road where people usually drive 65-70 even if the speed limit is only 55. She ran across the road with a chain about 10 feet long attached to her. Of course my mom rescued her, much to the dismay of my father. From the second I laid eyes on her I knew she had to be mine, my father approved! Molly and I have had a bond ever since and she is very much a mamma's girl. I love her to death even if she isn't the brightest crayon in the box and has a barking problem. She only barks at people she isn't quit sure of. For example, Zak, myself, The Big Dog (my dad), My Mom and Phil (a guy that works for us) she will bark at for a few seconds until she realizes who it us and then gets excited that you have come to visit her! I call her a blonde cause she kind of acts like one :)She has the biggest heart even though it is very apparent that someone abused and miss-treated her. I Love her so much, even with all of her faults!!! She wasn't potty trained when we got her or even house trained for that matter, stairs were her nemesis! She has since learned to do a lot of things and has had a lot of fun times since joining our family. She can't do cool things, like fetch or shake but she can play dead if I shoot her with my fingers and she sure does love Zak, she feels very safe when he is around. This is especially incrediable considering she used to be deathly afraid of men, my dad the most or any man that would wear coveralls and a baseball cap. I can't help but wonder what her life was like before she became a part of ours. Also, since she doesn't understand how to play fetch with a ball or a frisbee she just barks at the other dogs and then chases them while they run after the ball, its pretty cute she has no clue what they are actually doing! Molly is the heathliest (knock on wood) dog of our 3, only needing to go to the vet for shots and such! She has already promised me she will forever ;)
Favorite Things: Popcorn, Lucy her Cat, sleeping in late with Mom and Camping

SayD Elizabeth, named after the late, great Sadie Lopez of Houston, TX. Whom I might add, she acts JUST like!! Sayd was a stray who ended up at a shelter in Windsor. I had been going out to the shelter with my friend Alicia who was volunteering there, well one day I saw a couple who was taking "Burgundy" (her given name at the shelter) home. I had never noticed this dog in all of my visits to this shelter, which I think is horrible, but it was for the simple fact she was the only dog not barking her brains out. She would just sit in the back of the kennel and sleep. Well I noticed how sweet she was and when I started talking to the couple about her she walked right over to me and jumped up! I thought to myself "Man what a sweetheart!" 2 days later I returned to the shelter with some friends and noticed "Burgundy" back in a kennel sleeping at the back on a blanket. I immediately turned around walked to the front and asked the people at the front desk what happened. They said and I quote "The people that took her brought her back because she wouldn't stay off of there furniture." SERIOUSLY??? You gave the dog 2 whole days to learn to stay off the couch and she didn't, damn you should take her back to the shelter...needless to say some people are idiots. I told them she needed to come home with me, and $95 dollars later along with some signed paperwork she was on the way to La Casa De Jorge!! The First thing Zak said when I called and told him I was coming home with a dog was, "Is it short haired and is it a male?" Well the answer was NO and NO! He came home and walked into the kitchen and before I could even tell him her story he said "She's kinda ugly." So of course I immediately started crying, saying how I was just trying to do the right thing and that we had talked about getting Molly a friend. (which Molly was very grateful for) He eventually broke! 2 days later "Burgundy" finally had a name, yes we are bad parents. I can't tell you how many names we threw around but nothing seemed to fit. One night we were still trying to find a good fit and I said that my Cousin Andrew had an AWESOME dog that was also a rescue named Sadie, I was hoping that if she was named after her she would be just as smart and sweet!!! Zak for some reason came up with the idea to spell it like Say and add just a D at the end, so there it is. Even though most people call her something other than Sadie when they see her tag, we always correct them and they usually get the reasoning!!! She is the sweetest, smartest dog, very vocal, and very bossy, even afraid of thunder and fireworks or any loud noise for that matter. She may have her issues and by a little bit of a bitchy ole girl, but she was Zak's soul mate right from the start. We got very lucky with Sayd's behavior, as she knew how to sit, stay, come, fetch and all that stuff. What we didn't get so lucky on was her medical issues, allergies in her ears, constant flea biting (there are no fleas on her body to bite), licking of any little scratch, bruise or bump that she gets until she licks the hair off, and of course she had to have her anal glands removed. SayD is the boss so don't mess with her!

Jesus (that's pronounced HeyZeus) Hernandez Rodriguez Jorge. My "accident" of a son is from Mexico, okay not really he is from California but he is bi-lingual. Really he is, all the guys at work speak to him in Spanish and he gets very excited about Mexican food and music. This is why he has such the long name ;)Zeus was only supposed to be a lengthy babysitting job for one of our workers sister who had just moved here from California. She was waiting for her house to be built and where she was staying didn't allow dogs. So, on the afternoon of Halloween her and her 2 little girls dropped of Shiloh. Shiloh had no collar, didn't know is name and wasn't really sure why he had to come into the house to sleep and go outside to pee (he is the reason we needed a new couch) One good thing about him was that he was LOVED by SayD, they hit it off in a matter of seconds. The whole situation was a little shady to me but of course Zak always thinks the best of people, needless to say it didn't work out that way. 2 or 3 days after the drop off of Shiloh the women called to say we could find him a home, they didn't want him anymore...again some people are idiots and think dogs are easily disposed of. So after one potential home, many almost trips to the pound, about 20 escapes out the back gate for 1 hour jaunts around the neighborhood and 1 run in, literally, with a minivan. Shiloh became Zeus and he made his way into our hearts...and our bed! Zeus has been a bit of a learning experience for Zak and I, in that we are now officially prepared for children. Dogs of his breed, or Bully's as we call them, need A LOT and I mean A LOT of attention, exercise and need to know who is boss. With a lot of research and a lot of control Zeus has become the kind of dog we brag about, he is very well behaved and a pretty good listener....except when he meets a marmot who wont leave from underneath his car, who can blame him really?! Zeus, who's 4th birthday is on July 9th, try's SO hard to be a good boy anything to please Zak who is his everything, his one true love! Zeus gets so excited for dinner, or if he thinks he is going somewhere and most of all he gets SO excited when you come home from work, or the grocery store or the bathroom. That is the best thing of all about him, he loves with his whole heart. No matter what happened to you on any given day if it was the worst day of your life, Zeus will always bring a smile to your face. As a side note, Zeus survived cancer last January, my poor boy :(
